All day meeting Monday, June 25!!

Taking the stuff up to the church so we can pack it...in the torrential rain of Tropical Storm Debbie.
We met at 9:00 am. Here are some shots of the work and play in getting ready for our trip. We were so glad to have Zachary and Savannah be with us. We enjoyed a great pot-luck lunch at noon and a much needed break.  We sang all the teen songs, did two VBS opening assembly's, ran all skits again, packed 40 suitcases, and ran the games!
Lolly the clown skit - The Masterpiece!
Seth charming Riley!
Bugzi puppet show. Caleb is amazing as Bugzi!
Great job writing the script, Lori Buker!!
Bugzi will be TRANSFORMED by the end of VBS!!
Happy Birthday, Savannah!  Thanks for coming early and joining us!!
Practicing for the teen rally.  Now if we could only figure out what key to sing the songs in....
Our Safety Green travel shirts - we won't be getting separated in the airport!!
I call these our Glow-in-the-Dark shirts!
Caleb teaching us how to twist balloons. He makes a great flower!  Savannah showed us how to make Jonah in the whale.  Jonah was a tiny balloon inside of the regular balloon and he can roll all around in the balloon.  MOST everyone was successful at learning that technique!
Caleb's skit and motley crew!
No Sir, I was just picking my nose!

Loving that military posture!!
Kings and Jesters Skit
Time to pack - no problem with Stephanie and Emily in charge!!
Riley and Ainsley weight about 70 pounds!!
Hey guys, what about the suitcases???
The guys would weigh our personal check-in suitcase and then we we added VBS supplies until we got to 50 pounds. Everybody did a great job of packing light. We had suitcases to spare and immediately emailed the Sinclairs to see if they had more stuff we could bring to them.
50 pounds - perfecto!
Mr. Nichols in charge of game time practice!  We are definitely going to have some fun!!
Ship ahoy game!  Man overboard.  Seth, "Hey somebody, anybody, come here and be with me."
Alas, nobody answered and Seth was OUT!
Almost normal AWANA relay - but with someone giving the person with the bag on their head instructions on where to go. Poor Shanna, nobody was really helping her and she was kinda lost!
Four way tug - some serious pulling going on here!  All we managed to really do was to crumple up the cool AWANA game mat - nobody even won.  Seth - was disqualified for letting go of the rope.  Having not grown up in AWANA, he had not learned the number one rule of tug of war -
DO NOT EVER EVER LET GO OF THE ROPE. Sarah Beth, however, had grown up in AWANA, was actually tug-of-war state master, and even though nobody really knew why she was sitting down for most of the game, she was following great AWANA coaching guidelines...now if only her partner Seth hadn't LET GO OF THE ROPE!
Bean bag toss. Can you tell who has had AWANA games coaching??  I can!!!
A little intensity! Do you think he will scare the little kids in Cameroon?
This is Sharon laughing until she had tears running down her face.  I won't share what was making her laugh...although it was PRETTY FUNNY!!
And we are finished with our all day meeting!
Cameroon - here we come!!

What did I do today you ask?  I drug everything out of Stephen's room where it had been stored, bagged, and labeled it!  It's ready to be loaded up and taken to church where we will pack at our all-day meeting on Monday!  Nope - this is not everything...no crafts here...no game equipment...no teen stuff...no skit stuff.  Whatcha think about that tall roll of paper to the left?  Think we can get by with it as a carry on??  We took a Christmas tree pole (the tree was in a box) on another trip successfully, no one even asked what it was!!

A closer look at the right side of the pile!! Yep, the chocolate chips are going in a carry on.
Our guy came today to clean our carpets and kitchen tile and we had to work around each other.  Per his instruction...I had to wear white socks to walk on the wet carpet...

Final meetings:
This Sunday before (Cameroon choir) and after the evening service (skit practice).
All day meeting Monday!  Everyone will be here for the first time!!
Yeah for Zach and Savannah!!
Steve - we are looking forward to seeing you June 30!
Richard can't wait to have your voice in our choir.

One week and three days to departure....

Exciting 3 and half hour meeting last night!
It was awesome to see some of the skits coming together and we all laughed to the point of tears at Evan's and Seth's cooking skit!  Jamie looks "too cute" in her clown costume.  Mr. Goofball arrived and was beaten up by that mean ole snake yet again!  Will he never learn?

We sang all our VBS opening assembly songs - in order and the song poster holders (who practiced Sunday night) were AWESOME!

Bert the Bug Man made an appearance!
Banana Man slipped in too!

Pastor Quilty set an EXCELLENT example by prompting putting on his construction apron and attaching his hand sanitizer!  Way to go! We all LOVE our aprons, right?  Remember - the tiny schedule, kazoo, wordless book, evangecube live in this special place!

Andrew was happy with his safety GREEN GLOW IN THE DARK travel shirt. Sarah Beth was not happy as she already had her travel outfit picked out and it didn't include the glow-in-the -dark color T-shirt.  "Oh Well!"

Pastor Nichols was an example of diligence!  He kept at it until he found the elusive "vibra-slap" essential for the ping-pong skit!  Good job!

Emily, Pastor Quilty and I counted snacks after the meeting.  Our resident "couponer" has done an amazing job of keeping costs down.  We will have lots of good things to munch on.

Yet to come: another meeting Sunday and then the traditional "ALL DAY" meeting Monday.

Boxes are arriving daily that we will take to Ben.  Just now about 12 boxes of next years school material were delivered to our door!

I personally am actually having trouble believing that the all-day meeting is "Monday."  It has seemed so far away as we have planned for so long...... Less than two weeks now!!!

Is it ok for Pastor's wives to have a panic attack?

Parent's Night, FBCLOL VBS June 15.  577 different kids came, and 105 saved!
We are revved up and ready to go to Cameroon and do it again!
Beautiful Beanie Babies!   Can't wait to give them out!
Sarah Beth - home from Hawaii and put to work!  Poor PK!!  We counted and sorted 400+ beautiful beanie babies that were donated by our church people and VBS kids.  Thank you to everyone who was so generous!  Many are in "perfect" condition!!

Then it was time to count the silly bands the VBS kids donated.  What a giant pile.  Even Pastor helped count.
We have 1300 silly bands!
