It is the end of an incredible adventurous day here in Cameroon! I am overwhelmed by the blessings this day held! We spent the morning having 'Christmas in July' with the Sinclair family :) All the children gathered around and opened gifts from the team - it was awesome to see their faces light up when they received the slippers and hair barettes and such - we take so much for granted in our American families!
After the morning' rehearsal we ended up overheating in the big church bus on the way to a waterfall for some sightseeing. A select few ;) headed to the falls in another car while the rest of us waited on the roadside. A man named Genesis approached us and Mr Sinclair translated the Pigeon-English to all of us and said the man wanted to show us some rock formations near-by. We all agreed and headed down the trail. When we arrived at the 'rock formations' we were in awe! The view was incredible - like a scene out of Lord of the Rings as Savannah said :) The rocks were huuuuuuge and jutted over a beautiful valley. We had fun climbing and taking pictures and just enjoying the grandeur of it all. In the distance we could hear the sound of a waterfall and decided to try to hike down and find it. I was in flip-flops and a skirt and a ended up sliding down parts of the trail rather than hiking ;) It was such fun! Some of the adults tried to follow but turned back after the trail took them for a long slide ;) We eventually came upon the waterfall which was mostly covered by brush but still pretty. The experience was awesome, and it totally rivaled the waterfall-goers in my opinion!
However, the ultimate highlight of the day for me was meeting three sisters who live in a nearby village. Anna - 11, Brenda -11 (they were twins!) and Joy -9 were such sweet girls! We met them at the mornings rehearsal and they hung around the Sinclair home and the church the rest of the day. When I got back from the hiking adventure (by the way, Mr Nichols ended up fixing the van with water from a cow trough ;) the girls were there waiting for us. I talked with them a while and asked if I could show them the Evange-Cube - they listened intently and even prayed with me. It was an amazing experience! I am so blessed to be a part of Gods work here in Cameroon!
