NOT Stereotypical (by Seth Templeton)

So for all of you people that have a stereotypical view of Africa like I used to, it's NOTHING like what you think. First off, the people are not starving. We see hundreds of people every day, and they are all healthy, normal people. Second, they are not wild animals roaming around incessantly. The wildest thing we've seen is a monkey that ran across the road while we were driving. Third, it's not a desert wasteland. We've been here for two whole days and I've seen some of the most SPECTACULAR scenery ever! For example, myself and about 6 other people got to take a hike down a valley to this incredible waterfall. It was literally stuff people have made movies about!! We had to carve out a trail in the bush until we finally found this little slice of Heaven with 2 different waterfalls and all this amazing greenery and the sun shining down making it look angelic!! We even got to jump off of some of the rocks next to the waterfall and jump into this crazy-deep pool!!  It was pretty much the most amazing thing I've ever experienced. So I guess the moral of the story is to not judge a book by its cover. Besides our waterfall adventures, we practiced our opening assembly and it went really well!! Thank you for all the prayers that you have already said, and please pray even more as we begin to minister to these people!! I feel like God is going to do some jaw-dropping things during this trip, and I can't wait to see them!! Love ya Dad and T!!
